Catch-up post with lots of AMAZING and many, MANY photos and a list of doom.

I have the first round of edits back on my book, all of the artwork is now in hand for the new coloring books (because my artists are ROCK STARS), more than 500 unread emails after a few days off of the grid, I have about 1000 photos to process (not exaggerating!), laundry to do, a house to clean, my studio is a disaster, I've got Sketch Fest payments to send, it's a new month so I need to get Patreon perks out and do my wrapup, and I've got FOUR hours of childfree time to get it all done in. WATCH ME GO.

First, a brief catch-up, and a photo dump.

We spent our birthday weekend camping in our van up north. We spent two nights at our favorite site, and discovered a new campground further north where we spent two more nights. Guppy stayed with her grandparents, and it was BLISS. I mean sure, we ran out of propane and had to borrow jumper cables at one point, but overall, the trip was AMAZING. We hiked, I read two books (Discount Armageddon and a re-read of Matchbox Girls), we ate amazing food, we sat around campfires and lounged in hammocks and listened to the water flowing, and basically recharged from the roots.

Weekend update

It's been a lovely weekend. The rain finally dried up, and today has been blue and sunny. Yesterday, solstice, was cloudy, so it was harder to appreciate our longest day. Friday, we went on an actual, factual date, with dinner, a margarita, and a movie. We picked Godzilla, and were wildly happy with the choice. It was possibly the best monster movie either of us has ever seen. Great creature effects, and great pacing. We loved it.

Our little monster (who doesn't look at all two here!)...

... got her crayons taken away last night. This morning, she spotted them on top of the cabinet.

"I lost my crayons," she told me sadly. "You took them."

"Do you remember why?" I asked, with no particular expectations that she would.

"I draw on da door!"

I picked my jaw up off the floor. "That's right! What are you supposed to draw on?"

She gave me an impish look. "Shoooooes!"

"Nooooooo!"

"Taaaaaable!"

"Nooooooo!"

"Kiiiiitttttty!"

"Noooooo!" *both of us laughing helplessly* "What are you REALLY supposed to draw on?"

"Paper," she says, as if it's completely obvious.

Sketch Fest was this weekend, though I participated only a little on Friday. One of these weekends, I will dedicate my whole time to it. I got 4 ACEOs sketched - I plan to finish at least three of them: http://www.ellenmilliongraphics.com/sketchfest/sketchfestartist.php?id=9

Off to approve sales and fix problems!

Cranky Ellen is less cranky

I got a tremendous milestone finished on a freelance project, and that always feels nice. :) I also vented about some other project drama to a listening friend, which is also a good thing, and I was able to not snap at well-meaning people who didn't deserve it. I also cleaned ALL THE THINGS, got my inbox down to 286, the Internet began behaving again, and the cat sat on me and purred for a while, despite the laptop also occupying my lap. Torn World also did some rank climbing (now that I'm using the right stupid link), and we're at 7th place, so our banner shows. :) Thank you!

So, have some art...

A new portrait for Margaa is up at Torn World: http://www.tornworld.net/artpageview.php?id=204

I'm waiting for final approval on that commission, then I'll post it here.

I also watched The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.

Spoilers like woah )

Dinner now!

Business as Usual

My inbox overfloweth.

Art and Authoring

Here's a sketch:

I am thinking about rotating the composition 90 degrees clockwise... I can't decide.

Home and Health

Went out on a test this morning, go out on another tomorrow morning. Have to drive Jake to work tomorrow morning as well.

We watched an unexpectedly good movie last night: Cashback. Lots of nudity, but artistic, and the plot was really fun, the writing witty and the characters likeable. It isn't one we ever would have rented, but horrah for Netflix streaming.

Planning

A more interesting life so I have more to write about. Also, orders. Also, anthology and paperdolls.
