Cough and phlegm from the flu shot seem to have mostly cleared up; I'm feeling much better! A bit of fatigue, still, but that could be from anything.

My massage this morning was heavenly, and I had a chiro adjustment directly after. I still feel all rubbery and happy from it.

My optimistic list of things to do did not get done. I built a fire and did laundry... and that's about it. Oh, I cleared out the nursery a little - cleaned up the drop cloths from the last big stage of drywall and paint, and moved the nightstand into the bedroom (finally!), consolidated the toys that are already starting to accumulate, and cleared the areas that will next need work.

I also took a nap and shower, scooped the catboxes and did the dishes. No programming, art, scanning, paperwork, emails or writing. I am a terrible waste of a creative person and deserve no cookies. (I TEASE, I tease... I recognize my own ridiculous standards and mock them to save you the trouble.)

I'm great! No storm here yet - we probably won't get more than a little snow and some mild wind... we live waaaaay inland.

Hi Ellen - I haven't been on here in a very long time, but you are one of a few people who still have me on their friend list (thank you!) and I always enjoyed reading your journal and hearing about your art. Originally I joined livejournal via Kadanzer Weyr (not sure that still exists). Anyhow, I wanted to say hello and hope that all is well with you - congratulations on the Guppy! And I thought your "deserve no cookies" comment was hilarious, lol.

6. Pregnant women shouldn't change cat litter.

True. Due to a virus in cat feces called Toxoplasmosis.

Explanation: This virus can be very harmful to the pregnancy. But recognize that contact with kitty litter is not limited to changing the cat litter box. Since a cat walks on its litter, the virus can be tracked anywhere a cat walks, including its paws. Due to this, all contact with the cat must be limited and the house must be kept extra clean. Also, because much of our produce is grown outdoors where cats and other animals come in contact with it " even if it's organic " recognize that this virus may be present on fruits and vegetables.

No worries! I read up extensively on toxoplasmosis, and got tested for it, too. I clean the catbox in a complete hazmat suit: facemask and elbow length rubber gloves, every time, and wash and Lysol obsessively afterwards. Velcro is MOSTLY good about staying off the counters, but I bleach them regularly as well, and always wash my hands before eating, since it can only be caught orally. She's not allowed on my lap (or to beg nearby) when I'm eating, so I think my risk is fairly low. She's also indoors-only, and since they usually catch it from eating raw rodents and birds, chances are even slimmer.

*whew* Sorry I freaked, I should have known better, you are one of the most responsible people that I know! I just figured better safe than sorry, though I think this was discussed before? My brain is a mess these days. >_<
