Sunday baking...

In baking achievements: English muffins!

Dragon Prince's Librarian is past 32k and I'm feeling very inspired. It's going to take a careful read-through because I suspect I have explained a few things too many times and skipped over a couple of other important details, but I'll tackle that on the next pass when I can see it all at once. It is so much juicy fun digging deep into the magic structure and gritty interpersonal things. I've also gotten more feedback on Liam's story; some minor medical details, a pronoun typo, and a lot of 'I feel seen' and 'I just about/actually cried.' waves victory arms around

It's raining today, which is good for fires, and I made sausage gravy to pour over my muffins. My milk this week had 2 inches of cream, so I skimmed it and will have fresh whipped cream over...maybe fresh brownies?? Mmmm...

But now, more words.

Those English muffins look amazing! I'm not a sausage gravy person, but I'd still eat it with English muffins. Or those ones, anyway. Or fresh whipped cream. Where do you get nonhomogenized milk?

That sounds delightful! I looked into it once and it was the most hush-hush thing EVER, like, I literally had to go to the health food store and they seriously had to question me for 15 minutes to see if they could trust me, but we really couldn't afford it at the time. The kidlet was an infant and our day care costs were so high. It was insane.

But the dude seriously also concern trolled at me and told me that pasteurized milk was the worst thing I could give an infant for his health. It was so funny!

But honestly, I've always kind of wanted to do it. I could make such good stuff from it. I found a hookup on nextdoor and I could probably afford it now. Imagine the ice cream!

Good things! Those muffins look fabulous. Did I mention my fresh cream envy? :)

OMG, those English muffins are to DIE for! I only tried making them once, and it was so hard--and look how beautiful those are!

And TWO INCHES OF CREAM! Wow! What do your cows EAT?! (Or is that normal? That sounds better-than-normal... when we lived with my in-laws in a cottage in Dorset and got fresh milk from the neighbors' cows, we'd get maybe half an inch?)

And well done on story progress, too :-)
