Mondaily - Urgh.

ellenmillionBlurgh. I think Jake has given me the illness that he was fighting off last week. I also suspect that, as usual, it's going to hit me harder than it hit him. My throat aches, and my ears have been popping, I've got a nagging cough and... well, I can't tell if I have illness aches, or if these are all still from moving snow and chopping wood. There are definitely general aches.
I was hoping to get some Muse Fusion writing done today, but my list of overdue tasks (orders to mail! drowning in emails! commissions!) is looking a little overwhelming. I had an hour or so yesterday, but spun my wheels on a story I'm putting aside, and spent the rest of the time doing administrative stuff. I'm going to pick a prompt and do SOMETHING creative today. Come on, self, you can do it.
It doesn't help my state of mind that I'm still rattled over the hacker breach over the weekend. I'm pretty sure it came in through an un-updated forum I'm hosting for someone else (now updated), and I'm pretty sure nothing major was done... but it's very unsettling, and I'm terribly frustrated by the fact that there are such wretched people out there actively targeting me. What did I ever do to them? Do they get some kind of power kick out of making people squirm? I'm disappointed and saddened by the whole mess. I'm going to pick apart the structure of my sites over the next week or so, and isolate each database (particularly the forums, which seem most vulnerable) and user so that any further incidents are better contained. There may be brief rolling site outages while I do this. None of them should take more than a moment or two.
In better news, I had a wonderful art and Sci Fi evening with some girlfriends on Saturday night and we made the most *gorgeous* tops. I can't wait to see how they look assembled and dyed. Seriously awesome dance tops with stamped steampunk and Indian designs. SO pretty.
Tea and a load of laundry, now, and an hour of creative time before I hit the emails, bills, orders, cleaning and shopping that I need to do today.
