Guppy has hiccups, and her incubator has a serious case of the exhausteds.

I went carseat shopping today, and found the model and pattern I want... but only paired with the stroller, which I'm still iffy on. I don't REALLY want to pay almost twice as much for the stroller combo. It was on sale, which was a bonus, but mmm... just not quite convinced on the stroller half. The sale lasts a few more days. I did pick up the bouncer I'd gotten the raincheck for at Sears... and after nearly 30 minutes in line, I'm REALLY not sure it was worth the $5 I saved over just buying it in stock at Freddies the first time. Ah well, done now.

ETA: The husband has weighed in on the issue and does not think it is worth being THAT cheap and having no stroller when it could save me having to lug Guppy and carseat any distance at all - especially given my general back difficulties. We will go pick it up tomorrow. :)

I also painted a BIG swath of the floor today - probably too much, really, considering how sore I am now, and how tough it was to get the shopping done. I desperately need a shower, but barely got the groceries put away. I'm not sure I can get out of my chair right now.

Not convinced I will get anything else done today.

My daughter loved her stroller for years. It was the perfect thing for conventions, it let her go with me when she was tired and wanted to nap but I wanted to be out and about.

Of course, it's existence was an extravagance from my grandma's budget, not a hole in my own.

If I lived in travel-distance to conventions, that might be a deal-maker for me, too! (And if it wasn't my budget, of course! :P)

I had a stroller/carseat combo and it was quite useful for the first few months; once Baby started growing to the point of having her legs hang off the stroller, I go a bigger one. But honestly, you will probably use it a lot more than you think. For errands, your choice is undo the kid from the carseat and wrap her up in a sling/on your body/carry her... or just unhook the carseat thing and take it along either by the handle or in the stroller, and doing it by the handle is a serious workout.

But there were many days baby went into the carseat, carseat went into the stroller, stroller went into the coffee shop and got taken apart and baby got rocked with one foot in the carseat while Mommy talked with people or had something to eat. It was nice not having to unpack her from the carseat, particularly if she'd fallen asleep.

I was just explaining the dilemma to Jake and he stopped me cold and said 'you're trying to save HOW MUCH by making yourself have to lug the carseat around by hand for a year?' *laughs* He's not going to let me cheap out on this.

Good for Jake! I agree with him, it'll be a heck of a lot easier to get the stroller bit. :)

If you are going that route, get the stroller! Hauling a car seat around is absolutely the worst thing you can do for your back, and that's NOT saving money!

ALSO! I just remembered a tip; when you get your wrap/carrier/sling, try carrying a ten pound bag of flour around in it for as long as you can. This is a decent approximation of carrying a newborn around.

Will used to get hiccups for ages in utero; I felt bad for him they went on so long sometimes!

Bless him. You are going to be tired enough without adding weight exercises. :)
