There's a contest to vote in at Torn World: http://torn-world.livejournal.com/121963.html AND http://www.tornworld.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1108 This portion of the contest was to make a portrait for a character in the database who had no artwork yet. You can vote once at each place!

Also for Torn World, I've got a draft of a handbook article on Waters of the North up: http://torn-world.livejournal.com/122222.html It's a touch long, but (I humbly think) a very interesting read, and deals with rivers, lakes, the problem of drinking water and winter travel over frozen water. If you've got a psuedo-fantasy, semi-arctic setting, you might want to give this a read. It's clearly setting-specific, but might give you some ideas.

And in more personal Torn World news, I finished the next segment of the Rails storyline today! I want to get the following one roughed into place before I submit it (to make sure I don't need to rearrange anything), but I rather like how it came together. And I do love an excuse to describe fancy formalwear...

Also in Torn World news, there is an auction for a giant (17x22!) signed print of Journey up at Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151228732595100

In art, but not Torn World news, I have a signed copy of Dotminatrix up for auction at Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151222785895100

In totally impersonal things, here are a few links I enjoyed/was intrigued by...

http://doodlealley.com/2012/08/21/planning-for-the-possible/ - and interesting look at the difference between goals and dreams.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dodogames/divine-space-sci-fi-space-arpg - a kickstarter for an awesome looking game.

In baby news, she is much, much happier today. Both teeth have at least punctured the gums, so the worst is past, I hope. We are having a grand time exploring the living room via rolling today and she thinks everything I do is funny...
