It's been a nutty few days!

I haven't finished the very last creature for the sea monster scale chart, but I should have the rest of the chart ready to post tomorrow to wrap up sea monster month. I posted the smartarm today:

Adorable Guppy wearing Mom's coat-of-many-colors. She looks awfully angelic here, but she decided 5 was a nice time to get up this morning, took one half-length nap in the morning and utterly refused an afternoon nap to catch up. And considering that, she was still pretty good - just a little bit TWO. "No nononono no" is one of her favorite things to say, and she used that one a lot today.

I? Have no brains remaining.

So, I picked up my kid from day care, on an evening long ago. At this point, the best communication was often yes-no questions. As was my wont, I asked her about her day, what she wanted to do that evening, what we should have for dinner. Every single answer was "No!"

Are you hungry? No!
Did you just eat? No!
Do you want to skip dinner? No!
Do you want to go to a restaurant? No!
Do you want to eat at home? No!

Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Finally, I asked, "Do you just like the word no today?"

She glared at me silently. She didn't want to admit to that, even though she realized the answer was clearly not "No!"
