I'm back!

I snuck away for most of January to recharge my solar cells.

The family and I went to Hawaii, where we learned to hula, did a lot of swimming and jungle hiking, relaxed, read books, played games, and ate wonderful food.
I also wrote 15k words while I was on 'vacation' (at least in part to see if I could) and did no artwork (though I did take a LOT of pictures).

Then we came home, where it was 95 degrees colder, and spent three days clearing the driveway.

I am back and feeling ready to go again, and will be tackling a whole pile of exciting projects, including finishing my current not-a-book, finishing my tarot card for 78Tarot, upgrading my sites to be more mobile friendly and easier to shop at, an illustration project in non-disclosure, and a personal writing project. I've got a not-a-book coming out in just a few weeks, and another on the schedule for the month after that. I also have enough work for a new coloring book, so that's stewing away in my brain, too!

Welcome back!

A 95 degree drop and three days of shoveling sounds like a brutal end to a warm vacation. I hope that didn't do too much damage to all your good relaxing.

It is so weird seeing you in sand instead of snow. You should totally write about one of the Northerners visiting the Duurludirj islands. :D I think you have a priceless perspective on what it's like to experience the tropics from a very northerly viewpoint.

To be fair, it wasn't three FULL days of shoveling, and we have both a snow-blower and a 4-wheeler with a plow... but it was still a lot of work to come back to! I'm still feeling the relax in my bones, though, so it didn't undo everything!

It's weird BEING in sand instead of snow. Weirder, is when it gets dark at night... and it's still warm. So bizarre. I should totally write that... Torn World is one of my big goals this year. It's time to get Birka south and get all those culture clash stories written and out! I have a lot of new publishing experience to apply, and I also feel like I've leveled up in writing these last two years. Inspiration is flowing!

I recall one day in college when I was chatting on the VAX with a friend in Florida. It was -40 where I was and 90 where he was. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY DEGREES OF TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE.

He said, "It's 65 degrees in our server room and we draw lots to see who has to go into the cold," and I laughed like a drain. :)
