GLEE!

I got my ISBNs!

I generated a barcode!

I feel... all official and stuff.

see the barcode for Visions of Atlantis... )

Slept a little late this morning. I woke up six or seven times last night freezing cold and drenched in sweat, though I don't remember my dreams. Woke with a splitting headache when the alarm went off, got up and had some food so I could take some advil and crawl back into bed with an ice pack on my eyes. Woke two hours later feeling much better. The headache's not gone, but it's managable, at least. And getting the ISBNs was rather exciting and happy.

And, I got all the orders out that I could last night, and finished EMG pay, plus the late INATS cash and carry.

Gaming was fun. :)

My muse is in hibernation, no surprise. I've tried to draw and write a dozen times since Monday - and nothing works. I've written maybe 250 words. Sketched some pathetic doodles. Worked on an Aurthurian piece, but when I went to erase a mutant eyebrow, there was some smudge of EVIL on my eraser, and now it's all marked to hell. I tried to cover it with a forehead necklace thingy, but it just looks horrid. RATS! I wasn't real happy with the piece, so no loss there, but it kills me that I was working on that expensive new paper.

Okay, darn it, just a few more tweaks on these files, and it's time to sit down on the couch with a red pen and do a full markup. Again. I really want this to look GOOD.

Ow, my head.

I've done nothing but the Atlantis book today, and I'll say what probably everyone except me was already fully aware of: it's hard to design a whole book! I keep finding more little details that need to be taken care of, usually on every page (like numbering...) and I keep finding more little tweaks and adjustments that will make things look SO much nicer, but take SO much time.

Learning a lot as I go along, that's for sure. Probably a good thing I had no idea how much time it was going to take when I started or I would have just laughed and laughed when they suggested I lead this project...

Now, however, everything hurts like crazy, and I'm going to put away my laptop, clean up the six dozen Atlantis pages scattered all over, and go take a little nap with some nice icepacks before Jake comes home.

I'm not done yet, but it gets closer and closer and closer... it'll be a fine looking book, if I do say so.
