Getting close!
May. 20th, 2008 04:19 pmI'm getting scary-close to done with the Tell Me a Story project. I sat down yesterday and made a tentative list of what will be in it, and I have only two pieces to finish. They are already laid out, and I'm in that awful stage where I want to be inking already, but I know if I spend juuuust a little more time being careful and fixing those little things that almost bug me, it will be well worth it in the long run. Just a little time with a ruler, just a few more drapery adjustments, just a little more detail on that outfit...
I'm impressed. More than half of these pieces have been finished since the beginning of the year, which is more art that I finished in the last two put together, I think. I'm incredibly happy with them, too, and I think I've purged the worst of my need for stark black and white from my system for the short term; I'm really itching to do something in COLOR.
I wonder if I would have any success trying to convert one of these collage/story pieces into color. Maybe I'll just concentrate on doing the Roses piece. I dunno. I probably shouldn't get ahead of myself, because inking these two is going to eat up hours and hours of my life and probably a dozen pens.
I'm sort of curious - is anyone actually going to *color* these? Or should I aim for a more traditionally laid out book?
