Stole some painting time last night.


I shall scan and do a real post of them later - the color in the photo is washed out of the ACEOs in particular, and they are two of my new favorites.

EMG-Zine Retrospective forthcoming. 1000 words (exactly!) into one of the most grievously missing stories for the Rails series and not hating it. Guppy being adorable. I'm going to go play on the floor with her now.

EMG-Zine Retrospective, January 2011 - June 2011

Our opening theme was 'Creation', with a cover by Jeliza Patterson. Following the Chopping Blocks of the previous month, I made some hard decisions and ultimatums regarding bits and pieces of EMG in the news. Email. And other nostalgia.

Have, over the past few days, nailed my inbox down from nearly 500 to 341. Which is the best it's been since maternity leave started, I think. Would be nice to whittle that down to NOTHING by new years. Can she do it? Maybe... Probably would be easier if I hadn't sent like 100 emails to inactive artists warning them that their accounts are going to be disabled. Panic in the streets!

Doing the EMG-Zine Retrospectives - and this latest round of artist correspondences - is making me nostalgic for the EMG giftshop. About this nostalgic. And way, way, way, way more grateful that I'm NOT doing the giftshop anymore. I see SO many things I wish I'd done differently. Many of these things, I simply didn't have the skillz to do then, programming and otherwise. Some of them, I just didn't see from where I was then. Looking back at things has given me several (amazing!) ideas for improving the projects that are still thriving. My plans for world domination continue apace...
