We took a long, long walk yesterday evening - about 2 miles in total. Guppy just kept wanting to go further and further, even after we ran out of 'armaments.' The trail was not awful, but it's starting to get soft, so not all that smooth in terms of walking, plus it's all up and down. She was a little trooper, and only asked me to carry her once (I denied). We met Jake on the last stretch; he'd come home from work and knew we were out, so he came walking to meet us. It was utterly gorgeous out - sunny and just above freezing. I love having the trails just out the back of the house. I hope Guppy appreciates how lucky she is to have this when she's older.
We started out going to bed last night with a goodnight to the moon, and there wasn't a breath of a complaint afterwards. Possibly, this also had to do with tromping 2 miles in the woods before dinner. (She was up before the husband left, but I will take a solid night of sleep any day.)
A photo from the ice park last week - giant ice pirate ship behind her, low-angle sun shadow in front of her:

House is cleaned, I just have to thaw something for dinner, and throw a load of laundry in. Then, possibly another walk - it's cooler this morning than it will be this afternoon, but should still be nice for walking - and I've got some inspiring arty things to work on... but now Guppy is saying "I'm HUNGERY, Mama!" so I know what I'm doing next.
