The prints look beautiful. They'll be done by tonight. I'm not a screwup. I don't slack off too much. I'm not a horrible person. I haven't let everyone down. My housekeeping skills do not suck (maybe). I am not a terrible friend or sister or daughter. EMG is not going to fail because I'll be gone for two weeks. I am not a sucky writer. I am not a sucky artist. I am not a sucky anything. I can take pride in my accomplishments without being conceited. I am not stuck up.

Sometimes, I just need reminded, and waiting for comments and compliments is useless on so many levels, so I gotta remind myself. A single comment on an article I spent days on does not mean it sucks. No comments on articles or art that I spent days and months on do not mean they suck. Even if they did suck, I don't suck. I refuse to be an insecure, comment-grubbing, 'validate me!' whiner. At least, I refuse to admit it.

My mood right now sucks.

Maybe I need chocolate...

Incidentally, people are usually a lot quicker to criticize than to praise. Lack of response is more likely an indication of the quality of the work. You'd hear about it fast enough if people didn't like what you'd done.... :)

Lack of comments means people are dumbstruck by your work and effort. At least, that's what I tell myself...

Woman, if you suck, then the rest of us are in serious trouble.

You work so hard. You're a stinkin' stress junkie! The fact you hold down a job that requires weekends AND do EMG and everything else on the side is beyond amazing. I have to say, I'm one of those people guilty of no-feedback admiration. I tend to only reply if I have a lot of time to relax and not think about anything else, or if something REALLY jumps out at me. Otherwise, I just quietly admire and send links to friends. Don't look so much at the feedback and look more at the fact that you're able to participate in all these things. If you sucked, you wouldn't get so much exposure. :)
