Jan. 22nd, 2005 07:17 pmSlept laaate this morning, moved the couch and entertainment system downstairs, got 7 new entries up, made a chicken stew, and lazed about. Having the couch downstairs is awesome. Having wireless DSL is also awesome.

Date: 2005-01-22 10:11 pm (UTC)I had brought my Portrait Adoption sketchbook with me to work. The first page was like.. a fanart of Inu-Yasha dozing on Kagome's shoulder and such, and most of it was inked and/or in-progress sketches of the stuff you'd find at my PA gallery (plugging for reference, not sales). And then there was a page of a sort of Bratz style drawings of my fairy boy character.
My co-worker's mom came in and looked through it and raved and praised. I was happeh. Then co-worker's aunt came in and she flipped through it and praised. I was happeh. Until she said, "Have you ever thought of drawing things from Mel Gibson's The Passion? They'd sell really well!" and I politely murmered that, yes, they probably would. And while I was kinda 'ew, uber-Christian', I wasn't annoyed yet. And in the same breath she said, "At least it wouldn't be Satanic!"
Pause.
Co-worker's mom cries out, "Her art's not Satanic!" and the aunt tries to back-peddle and say, "well, fairies don't know God, they're pagan, so they're Satanic." I'm horrified and facinated. Before she leaves, the aunt was nice enough to say, "I'm not saying your ART is Satanic, but fairies are!" and I'm like, "Don't worry about it."
