New family member...

He's 11 months, and has all the training I didn't want to have to give a puppy. He's not little, about 90 lbs, and very gentle and friendly and playful. He's definitely a people person - he HAS to be on the same floor that I'm on, and he doesn't bolt when you let him out. Likes to run, but will come when called. Neutered, does the sit and stay-until-distracted routine. Seems okay with Veclro, if a little Interested. Doesn't bark, except at moose! The people giving him up had raised him from a puppy, and clearly loved him dearly. They told me they'd finally resigned to taking him with him, though they already have another big dog, are expecting a baby, and were much, much happier to see him go to a good home where he could get more attention and room to run. They're moving, and I can only imagine two big dogs like these on a trip like that.
It's my puppy!

Date: 2005-11-01 08:36 pm (UTC)He's maybe a lab/Shepherd mix? -- if so, good luck coping with those Shepherd "smarts" -- perhaps you'll be lucky and they'll be leavened with some of that lab "happy" ;-)
