New email is set up for EMG-Zine, and I am officially accepting submissions. No, I'm not posting the email publicly, you have to use the form on this page to request more information. I will reply with exact submission information. If you have already sent in a form, I will be answering those shortly.

I've also got new public forums set up for folks to chitchat on and also to post work for a Critique Corner. This is not for free-for-all critiques! This is only for work OF the theme of the 'zine, and will ONLY be critiqued by one person, and MUST be completed per the critique for a before and after comparison. The two versions of the piece, and the critique, will be published in the 'zine. (You'll get extra exposure, and the critiquer will get some kind of reward - haven't decided what...)

More details in gory detail at the forum.

And do sign up for the 'zine contributers email list, yeah?

The link to the submissions page has gone a bit wonky - you need to add the http://www bit or it'll turn into an internal LJ link instead..

Woops! Thanks, and fixed. :)

No worries :)

I hate it when it does that - surely they could fix the code so that if it has 'www.' in the link, it knows that it's external?

I just went and had a look and I think it's an excellent idea :)

Does the person submitting art for critique have to follow the advice given though?

What if the person doing the critique suggests something that the artists disagrees with?

I think it would be okay if the artist neglected one or two of the points, provided they used the bulk of the critique. I'd think they could add a little explaination as to why they skipped that part, maybe, too. Possibly that bit wouldn't get printed, and the part of the critique that wasn't used would be edited out. Not sure yet! I'm definitely flying by the seat of my pants...

My suggestion would be to post the critique in it's entirety, and also have the artist address any bits that they haven't chosen to action - that way people get to see the whole process :)
