Quick post on commercialism

Seems to be a common theme on my friendslist lately, and all I have to add is:

Never feel shame for being able to get money for doing something you love from people who love what you do.

Exactly. My growing reconnection/love of art is not worth any less just because I would like to sell it and be financially successful if I can. For me, anyway, commercial/commercialism is not a dirty word, and it shouldn't be.

...I will tell you that the Bratz doll of Spiderman I saw in Kmart before the movie came out made me shake my head in disgust. But thats a case of extremism.

Generally the people who have put me down for getting paid for doing what I love have been people who wish they were doing the same. :)

Thanks for the reminder! I always feel really guilty about billing: "Am I really worth that much? I know I need that much and it's what we agreed to, but...!"
