Business as Usual
Well, my brain appears to be fit for something other than vampire soap operas again, which I am very grateful for.
I have made the biggest steps in the Great Database Conversion already, and have re-written Portrait Adoption to draw from (and update) the new data. While I was there, I fixed a few minor bugs, added a few features, and gave it a major facelift: http://portraitadoption.com
I also fixed registration and profile editing at EMG-Zine: http://emg-zine.com Have you read the new issue yet??
The next big step is the lilypad. That will be a pretty BIG step. Just an FYI - any changes you make to your data right now may not be saved.
Art and Authoring
Haven't been. Apparently, recovery bruises the muse. Coding takes a lot less effort.
I have posted new work at Torn World that you can enjoy? A few new articles and some new artwork went up today.
Health and Home and stuff
We ran out of fuel last night, so we've got a fire in the woodstove today, though I was able to get a delivery within just two hours of calling this morning! So impressed! The fire is still nice, though, so I'm continuing to feed it little bits.
I've had a bit of a health breakthrough, I think - two of them, really. I could sleep all of last night through without getting up in pain when the meds wore off. I've been lasting longer and longer every night, but this was the first night I didn't wake up before the alarm and have to nap the last little bit in my chair downstairs. I can sleep on my side again for short periods, too.
I'll remain vague about the other breakthrough, but let's just say it was literal and TMI and involves standard post-surgery system slow-down. I feel a bit like a squeezed tube of toothpaste.
I have been gradually adding fat back into my diet with no major side affects. Still not up to bacon (it will be a WHILE), but I could eat some chicken sausage and some sauce with a few grams of fat over the weekend.
Food is delicious again!
Back to coding now... lots to do! And it's best to do it while I'm excited to!

Date: 2010-05-04 09:31 am (UTC)Oh and the code thing, you'd think when you are feeling bleh that code would just be bad, but it actually can be pretty good. I spent a lot of time while sick playing with apps as opposed to paintings. It's like you're sapped of any creative juices when you feel under the weather
