Today? Not so hot.

I dropped Jake off at work, got my tires changed, and went shopping. The shopping at least, went well - shopping early on a weekday morning beats the PANTS off of trying to shop after work or on weekends.

But, I think I'm getting a sty in my eye - every few blinks I get considerable pain, since waking up this morning, and I haven't found or flushed out anything, even after copious tears at times.

And, we have radon*.

The general danger level, according to the EPA, is 4. We have 6.7 on our living levels and 34 in our basement.

The post I put together in my head the first time had copious swearing in this space.

The fix is expensive, and potentially a serious pain in the ass.

All this radiation and STILL no super powers.

*A common form of radiation that comes out of bedrock in many areas. Causes cancer. Nasty stuff.

I know, huh? I've got no super-powers either! Ugg. I hope this gets fixed with a minimum of expense and fuss!

*hugs*

My Mom's house had that but looks like we will have to abandon it as it would cost more than we have to bring it to building code standard & we can't legally move back there until we do. It will probably eventually be sold for car sales forecourt but MOM won't deal with it & I'm not well enough to cope with taking over her legal stuff.

Is it tanking or fan extraction you'll have to do?

We're going to try passive extraction first - the basement floor isn't sealed at all yet, so that alone might do it. Then fan extraction as a next step.

Good luck with it. Hope it works out a simple fix.

Wow, hope you get the radon thing sorted out. Sounds like a huge pain in the arse. 8-(

Also, keeping my fingers crossed that the sty goes away! Only ever had one once, but that was enough. I wouldn't wish it on anybody!

Radon? I have to admit, that scares me some.

I hope everything will work out okay?

Yikes! Good luck with the radon, hopefully it'll work out so that it's not a huge PITA to fix.
