I am SO not ready for it to be halfway through the week. I have to go into town to pay land taxes today, and finish some orders, and have spent entirely too long trouble-shooting 'improvements' at EMG-Zine. The latter was partly user error, partly $%&*@ stupid Word characters, but I do think I've actually solved that problem. Hopefully for the long-term. I did not finish the last story I wanted to have done by today. Bah!

The new issue of EMG-Zine is up! And the new webpage design is revealed! Revel in it's awesomeness! http://emg-zine.com

I have a new story up at Torn World! Those of you who've been following my writing for a while may recognize the bones of this from my Elfwood gallery. It was the second-ever Torn World story that I wrote, and has actual, factual PLOT in it. It has been largely re-written. Enjoy! Homecoming

What else?

Oh, I should probably weigh in on the latest LJ kerfuffle. I don't plan to cross-post any comments I make, ever. I may cross-post my OWN entries, I haven't decided. I ask that you not cross-post your comments from any of my LOCKED posts (which are very rare, and usually locked for a reason and REALLY, LJ, what were you thinking when you came up with that?!), but otherwise, don't really care - public is public, and anyone at Facebook/Twitter who doesn't realize I have a livejournal account is seriously not paying attention.

Okay, much to go do now. Dogged Ellen is doggedly doing.

kerfuffle? there's a kerfuffle?

also, out of curiosity, is it that you think LJ is weird for coming up with filtering options or were you objecting to something else?

Oh, I love that LJ has filtered posts. What I object to (and what I think is raising so much ire on the new cross-posting) is that people can cross-post their own comments that are replies to a locked post. As I understand it, if I post a locked post about hating work (for example), Joe Friend has the option to cross-post their 'I hate work, too!' comment. (I should test it, but I believe that the cross-posting includes a link to the original post, which means that my hypothetical boss could not SEE my work-hating post, but may still know that it's there.)

Additionally, there are the pingbacks: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=293

Which, again, if I understand (and I'm not sure I completely do...), if you post something (locked or not) and I post something (here at LJ) that links to your post, you get a notification. Even if MY post is locked.

Personally, I think that locked information should be 'invisible.' But I'm also not too worked up about it.

Yeah, that is a bit weird.

Nearly all of my posts that are not crossposted from my private blog are friends-only, and I'd be fine with you using them to test out stuff.

Oh, okay, it looks like the pingbacks are only valid on public entries. But comments to locked posts can still be cross-posted as described above.

Rats regarding the unfinished story!

I suspect LJ will take away the crossposting in locked posts, there's too many people complaining about that; despite the contest deadline and being really tired, I took time to complain about that!
