Just FYI: I have a virus on my primary computer. Not a pretty one. It has forced a Windows Recovery, which means - all my programs need to be reinstalled. We are T-3.5 hours to Sketchfest, and I don't even have a basic FTP program going yet. Oh, and the recovery errored out overnight.

I'm on a secondary machine now, installing an FTP program and getting the sketchfest pages ready. I don't anticipate a delay in getting the site ready, but I may spend the actual fest rocking in a corner and pulling my hair out (and resetting every password at every site I can think of..).

Oh noooo.... Casey just had one on his computer it took him a few days to root out and kill. It's a new one. I wonder if it's the same? I'll point him to your post when he gets home and see if it sounds familiar.

My primary computer was saved from a nasty virus by running ComboFix (Google and get it from bleepingcomputer.com - NOT any site with combofix in the url or that charges you money)
It didn't completely clean off everything but it did enough to let me pinpoint the source of the infection and fix the corrupted file. So, for next time viruses happen, before you system restore, might give it a shot!
