I don't know how many of the first two volumes you sold, but it was obviously enough to encourage you to make a third one - and in this context, 4 sales is almost unbelievable. I have a hunch that the problem was insufficient advertising. Heck, I've been a member of Portrait Adoption for two years now and I barely know about your other projects. I did always appreciate your discretion and the fact that, unlike most people these days, you don't aggressively market your projects, but maybe this out of all things could've used a bit more pushing. Advertising on DeviantArt could/should have helped, it's a huge community and a lot of people would buy such an anthology for themselves or as gifts for artist friends. It might be worth trying even now, 'tis the season and all that, but I can definitely understand if you're reluctant of pouring more money into this.
Holy textwall, Batman! Disclaimer: I don't really know what I'm talking about, but this post got me thinking, so I just shared whatever came up. Maybe you can use it.
Oh and - yes, I want all three of them for myself. I never buy things online, but if I were to start, I'd do it with self-published books. They're the ones that get me most excited, but at the moment I'm in the same economical distress as everyone. I won't go into details, it's not even funny. Better times will come though!
