Mondaily weekly progress update
Mar. 14th, 2011 10:33 amMy email is down for a bit - apparently my server is working with half a core* and I'm just happy my sites are up again. This does impact my whole 'get emails answered' plan for the morning, but I've got some other things to work on.
Over at Torn World, I've got THREE new items for you today, including an article on Beads in the Northern Culture, a new character, Tobern, created by the late
valdary, who I still miss horribly, and a new bonus for registered readers, a downloadable coloring page of this piece. Last week, my poem In Natural Time went up, as well as a canon-eligible mystery portrait. (The non-canon gallery becomes visible to logged-in folks.)
Artists! I am in need of artwork! Portrait Adoption needs portraits! The Arabian Nights coloring book needs linework in that theme (submit in the lilypad, inquire if you are new)! EMG-Zine needs artwork in the theme of Dryads, Jewels, Butterflies, Owls, Mushrooms, Scandinavian Mythology, Frogs and Ships! I need folks interested in being involved with Commission-Control to upload artwork for the gallery!
I will probably be removing the Project Wonderful ads from EMG-Zine. I had 19 ads to approve today, and only allowed four of them, rejecting the 'free articles' spam site, the left-leaning political propaganda (I would have rejected any right-leaning political propaganda, too...), the obnoxiously bright BLINKING BLINKING BLINKING humorous t-shirt ad, and the viagra sites. You're welcome.
Considering these ad spaces have only gotten up to about .03 in months, I really don't find them worth my time. If you'd like to advertise on the site, please consider a subscription, which comes with free advertising and counts directly towards our survival goal:
$541 / $900 total funding by June 2011. 60% done! If we haven't made this goal, the December 2011 issue will be our last!
I have added straight donations as an option at the EMG-Zine site, and today I added that donation option to the sidebar.
Health-wise, I am still staggeringly underpowered and coughing, but I think there's improvement. I plan to strap on my snow-shoes later today and stagger out into the snow with my camera - Jake and I took a hike yesterday that was utterly gorgeous and worth the resulting wipe-out, and I was wishing I had my camera the whole way.
*I originally had a flippant comment about the nuclear issue in Japan here, but decided it was too soon... >.>
