There's no such thing as 'too cold.' I think the coldest I've ever personally experienced is -68 F. Dress smart and stoke the woodstove!

I'd say if breathing makes your throat start tasting blood it is definitely too cold for comfort.

How cold is that? It depends on how healthy I am; I had been doing pretty well for a couple of winters, meaning that there weren't many days that hurt to go outside. Unfortunately, after having the flu during the very cold snap after the blizzard this winter, "below freezing" was enough to do that for a while (despite the prednisone).

For reference, I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
