A chinook has blown in, and the temperatures are WAY too warm, with freezing rain mixed with snow and incredibly gusty wind (up to 50 MPH, according to the weather). Broken branches everywhere! Kind of fun and exciting. Power has already flickered, so I may not have connection soon! The forecast says we may get up to 7 inches of snow tonight.

It's crazy, but I love living here...

I checked the temps this morning. Here in Texas, it was 46. Anchorage was also 46. Y'all were at 38! Saying I was surprised was a bit of an understatement.

Hang on and enjoy the ride. :-)

I love winter storms, though they can sure do a lot of damage. When I stayed through January at the resort I worked at in the mountains near Yosemite during our down time, we had a lot of felled trees that damaged cabins and staff buildings. And those were BIG trees--the combination of wind and snow weight made them snap apart like twigs. Not to mention the lovely stream of power outages and random fire alarm incidents (minus fire, fortunately), and forget satellite or internet. lol..

Here, we've just been getting lots of rain and temperatures that range between the 60s and 70s, though we're supposed to get a bit of cooler weather soon.
