So, here I am... 8 months pregnant. 30 below zero. And I'm back to an outhouse.

It is not, THANK GOD, the septic system, just a mundane mystery clog in the toilet. Everything else is draining just fine. Toilet auger being fetched from town now.

The path to the outhouse has not been cleared in several years, and has TOTALLY been booby-trapped by brush and building supplies. A sheet of metal siding had fallen over and been snowed into invisibility right over the path - I slipped and fell on it on my way down this morning. Fortunately, there's enough snow that it wasn't more than a startled 'pff!' and a lot of snow down my boots. It doesn't feel like I did any bad twisting.

So. ARGH. Just, ARGH.

How's your day going?

I'm being thrown under the bus by people outside my department, in what I must assume is retaliation for my calling them to task on their failures over the last couple of days. I'm also being repeatedly stalked on a couple of dating sites by a 59 year old woman who looks exactly like my abuser's mother (and who is a VERY DEVOUT CHRISTIAN! apparently). She's been joined by a 65 year old woman with two kids who are in their 40's for whom she thinks I'd be a "Great Father Figure."

And my transfer to the new team has been delayed by at least 60 days.

Trade you for the snow. :(

Obviously I don't comment on LJ a lot...but I have to express some empathy here. You poor thing!!!!

People who long for "simpler times" just don't appreciate the true joy of indoor plumbing. Especially in winter. yikes.

My day so far has been wonderful...comfy couch, cuddly dogs, tons of fanfiction to read, and no deadlines for artwork for the first time since last January. Aaaaahhhh!

Fall

I'm really sorry. All the shit I've had to deal with today is metaphorical (admittedly, the still-being-toilet-trained Small Roommates have not yet come home.)

*hugs you bruise-amelioratingly*

There's a reason I don't live in Alaska! (And it has nothing to do with the aurora borealis, which I'd love to tempt into skies over my house!)

Yikes, that is scary!!! I am glad you and Guppy are okay! Though it is cold and you are now spoiled by indoor plumbing, it must be nice to have a backup bathroom. I mean the alternative is worse, I can't imagine it being easy to squat behind a bush when pregnant!
Thank goodness it is too cold for the hornets who like to hang out there!!

Oh my
