And, brrrr! In the 40s this morning, and I'm quite miffed. Where the heck is my summer? There are yellow leaves on some of the trees, and that depresses me.

Cleaned 'toilets' this morning (human and cat) and am waiting for Guppy to wake up to do vacuuming and put in a new load of laundry. I have an OMGEmergency Print Service Order* to work on today and deliver, and some writing schtuff, if I can. Nap would be good, though last night wasn't brutal. (It's all relative.)

Swimming with babies! I have been talking about this with Jake, and would love your thoughts on it - how young did you take your tyke swimming? How'd it work out? Any thoughts beyond 'waterproof diaper' and 'head goes up'? I'd like her to be comfortable with water at a very young age.

I'm thinking about offering one or two commission slots for sketch work, which I seem to be able to manage more reliably than color or ink... would anyone want one? I'm thinking $10 for something about this level. Just fast, low-pressure, discount something to get back in the game. Interested?

*Print service orders are not technically open, but I'm a sucker.

I sent my daughter to swimming lessons at age 2. I could have started her earlier, even, and would have if I'd had my head together when she was 1.

Babies in water can start easily around age 6 months. Don't stress the diapering--they have all sorts available now for swimming.

I have a semi-request for a sketch if you are interested--I would gladly pay.

My wife's toying with the idea of getting a tattoo to memorialize her dad who just passed. She is thinking a cross, with a cowboy hat tipped on the top, a lasso wrapped/coiled around the cross to the base and maybe adding cowboy boots. (Obviously, he was a cowboy and loved all things rodeo.) She also wants to put the years of birth and death into it somehow too.

Please let me know.

AND... wheretheheck is our baby pix of the day (that's the only thing I'm here for ... lmao)

My nephews started swimming around the 18 month - 2 year mark... it's encouraged a lot here because of all the water based activities, plus safety. They teach the younger kids to swim immediately for the edge of the pool and hang on so they don't drown, just in case they fall in.

I first took Amelia swimming when she was about 4 months old, though I believe you can start at 3 months. She loves the water! We also did swimming lessons a few month ago designed for babies 3-18 months, it was mostly singing songs, splashing, some dunking underwater, but designed to get them comfirtable with the water. She is 8 months now and has now problems with thhe water at all
