Suggestions welcome. This is what I have so far. What glaring gaps do I have?

Bear in mind that I do not want a SEA of options to wade through. I could list wild animals individually, for example, but having bear, lion, giraffe, etc, etc would get tedious. Cats and dogs, on the other hand, are common enough subjects to earn their own.

you might want to put mythology in with gods & goddesses

I added mythology as a theme, thanks!

Size is a great idea, but how about "ACEO" and ___" x ____" and let people fill in the blanks. Hmm.... maybe let people choose inches or centimetres.

Media: Please add "mixed" (This reminds me I stil have some sketches to load that are watercolor and prismacolor from last weekend, and it's nearly midnight already. Hopefully tomorrow.)

If you're listing style, you should have a "dot addict" category, just 'cause.

Have you had requests for categories?

Media: Please add "mixed"

I was just coming in to suggest this! :D (Actually, in general, if these are going to be drop-downs, there should be some sort of "Misc" or "Other" category in every list ...)

I'd like "mixed" and "other" both -- we might get so lucky as to have someone start a stained glass piece, for instance.

:-D

I'm waffly over specifying mixed - you'll be able to choose as many checkboxes as you like, and I think watercolor/ink/opaque paint will be more useful (and clearly be mixed) than an unspecified mixed ticky. I think I will add it for now, and if the list gets too unwieldy, it may be one of the first to go. I figured dropdowns would be far too restrictive.

Aha! Being able to select more than one takes away the need for "mixed", I think - I'd been thinking it would be an either/or thing, but check boxes make so much more sense. :)

If "wild animals" then also "domestic animals". Where would the darling "chickies in stockings" and "chickies in high heels" get filed? I guess they could go under birds. Perhaps skip "wild animals" in favor of "mammals", "amphibians", and "reptiles" to go with "birds", "fish", and "bugs and butterflies"? (Insects, arachnids, and things with many legs?) Where should molusks and octopi and jellyfish and such be filed?

Toys?
Food and drink?
Weather?
Skyscape and/or oceanscape (to go with landscape?)
Abstract as a background option?
Landscape as a subject?

Steampunk?
Greco-Roman?
Medieval?
Rennaisance?
Modern?

Princesses? (Royalty? and if so, other social class markers?)
Books?
Magic? (Mages, witches, wizards, sorcerors ...?)

Still life?

I'm not sure what level of abstraction I'd file under "abstract" as a style. Do you want various degress of realism and/or stylization? Photographic, cartoon ...?

Fan art?

Sorrow, Joy, and so forth?

Err. In confusing things, I can't seem to page through "finished work". After the first page it seems to drop me back into sketches?

Shall look into that! Hmm!

If you don't want to get too taxonomically correct, you could go with "aquatic animals" in favour of "fish".

I was thinking of turning fish into fish and sealife - there aren't so many fish that it needs its own category, I think.

I've added and adjusted thoroughly - good list, thank you!!

I'd like Postcard between ACEO and Letter, please. And, only semi-seriously, how about "too big for the scanner"? ;)

Definitely needs Still Life, too. And how about Buildings?

Also really needs to NOT be limited to one choice from each category.

FWIW, in my own tags I use scope, too: Closeup/Detail, Portrait/Headshot, Single Full Figure, Groups/Scenes

Hah hah! Yes, I was thinking 'enormous' would be a size option. Still life has been added, and I put cities as a setting. I'll add postcard!

Definitely NOT limited to one choice in any category. Unlimited checkboxes! Tickboxes for all!

I didn't mean cities as a setting, I meant buildings as a subject.

Thought of something else: Not sure if or how to group them, but right now I see nowhere to go for Gnomes, Goblins, Orcs and Trolls

I've expanded monsters (because we don't really have many of those) to include Monsters, Imps and Gnomes.
