Telescammer...

I got a telescammer this afternoon while I was slicing potatoes with my hands, entertaining the baby with my feet, and trying to keep her out of cabinets by voice command.

"Is this Eileen (redacted)?" said the thickly accented voice once I'd picked up the phone and said hello a few times.

"Sure," I said. Because, close enough.

"Ma'am, I'm calling about your Windows Computer..."

"Ah, no, you need to remove me from your call list, please." Firmly. Because I have exactly no patience for such things, but will not stoop to rudeness unless they do.

"You can go to hell, Ma'am."

I actually stared at the phone for a moment because he was so polite sounding about it, and the 'Ma'am' threw me. Then I hung up, because what are you going to do?

Adam called me about my Windows Computer a couple of weeks ago - in the middle of the bloody night, scared the crap out of me. Rose called the day before yesterday, albeit in the afternoon.

They never got a chance to get rude because I told them never to call again (I did say "please") and hung up - oh, with Rose I had the presence of mind to inform her that what she was doing was illegal, and then I hung up in the middle of her arguing the legality of her call.

We had this happen Sunday evening at 8:36 PM. The shop that is servicing our PC closed at 6. At first we thought they'd been working late and got assistance. When Gowan got the phone from me (boy was I relieved as I was getting frustrated) he realized this was a scammer. He told Gowan to F off. Yes, that's right. He even said it a second time before Gowan could disconnect.

You are scamming us and you are going to cuss us out when we don't play along!!!!?????
