Mondaily Labor Day report
Sep. 1st, 2014 04:50 pmIt's labor day, so I am laboring! I have finished selections for the next mermaids coloring book, and am down to the last three pages for the fairy tales coloring book (such HARD decisions!!). I have to re-scan my own zombie and dark fantasy submissions because I did not save them before Photoshop crashed on me. (Oops.) The rest of the submissions are spooling into the printer queue now. The Kickstarter is about 50% together - I need to do preview images and list artist names, and work on the video script. A lot of the guts are together already, at least, and the rewards all laid out.
Yesterday, we tackled the basement. We didn't really mean to, but Jake saw my (ohgoddisaster) workspace and nobly said, "This Will Not Do." We had a spare shelf in the garage because we bought new (better) shelving to go out there, so we had space to expand into. That meant a massive organization spurt, moving shelves, sweeping (the DUST, dear heavens...), and weeding of various things. My workspace, besides being tidied up considerable*, is also now GINORMOUS. We moved a shelf to a nook along the wall, and it opened up the space so beautifully. We had been planning to put a NEW rack of shelves in that space, but once we realized how crowded the shelf there made it feel, we ended up putting the shelves across the basement out of my office space entirely. It's day and night, how much nicer it is to work down here now. I want to buy a nice rug to cover the concrete, and it will be very homey and cozy.
It is raining again. The forecast says 'heavy rains.' It has been 34 the past several mornings and I am not sure my zucchinis are going to have a chance to grow much more. There is snow predicted for 2000 feet. This is my DISPLEASED face.
This week, stay tuned for the Return of Storytime (It's not broken!), August in review, a patron's update to Patreon, sketches from the gardens, and new fiction at Torn World.
I'll leave you now with some squid love:

*There is, I confess, a stack of 'dunno what' in one corner that badly needs weeded. Artwork in progress, letters, invoices, some sketchpads, a calendar from last year...

Date: 2014-09-02 06:28 pm (UTC)As for your weather... this is my DISBELIEVING face! Didn't the snow JUST MELT there??? I know time flies and all, but holy cow, 34 degrees??
On the upside, hopefully there will be more moose posts once winter comes.
