When I hit my writing goal for the day (1400 words right now), on those glorious days where I still have a little writing time left, I'm noodling along on Tropical Tails, the first Shifting Sands Resorts collection of short stories. One of the things I've been enjoying is putting together these little teaser images for some of the stories. I'm quite sure you can guess who this story is about if you have read the series.





(I made the mistake of re-reading this story after letting it sit for several months and bawled myself into a puddle. This is not a particularly cheerful story. It is rather beautiful. It comes with ALL the trigger warnings.)

A TINY GAZELLE MADE OF KNEES ♥

One year old human in tiny gazelle form. I can't begin to imagine all the ways that might go horribly awry, but her poor parents/responsible adults.... Do shifters normally start so young in this 'verse?

It is unusual in this world - it usually comes with puberty! - and it's particularly troublesome to her parents because they are trying very hard to fly under the radar.
