Friday Five

1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short?
I'd say wavy, and longish. Bangs.

2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime?
When I was young it was long and straight, but about 6th grade, Mom got sick of taking care of it and I got it cut to about chin length... and hated it. I tried perms through middle school and into High School... see the last question.

3. How do your normally wear your hair?
Loose. I'll twist it up throughout the day and stick a pencil through it, but mostly it's just however it happens to be after I get out of the shower. Some days I'll brush it.

4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like?
I'd make it red... again. :)

5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened?
Oh YEAH. The last time I went in to a beautician, it was for a perm... I just wanted a little body wave, but the person doing my hair was a MORON. The solution was way too strong, they left it on waaaay too long, and I ended up with a kinky, tiny-curl mop. Worse, I had chemical burns all along my hairline that blistered and peeled. Worse yet, the hair started breaking a few days later, right at the base. I had patches across my head that were essentially buzz-cut. The hair itself, which was quite long at the time, was all damaged, frizzed beyond repair, bleached out, and split. It took four years to grow all of that damage out. I haven't been to a beauty shop since then.

To Potter Or Not...

Am very tempted to go to the Harry Potter release party tonight...

Gulliver's books is putting on a big show, live owls, costume contest, the whole nine yards, from 8 until midnight (outdoors... midnight sun and all). I guess people have been in line since this morning. :P

Now me, I like fantasy, and I like books, which naturally predisposes me to liking Harry Potter. I read the first one, and it's okay. The first movie was cute, too. But it's not deathless literature, and it's not... well, it's not worthy of the hype in my ever-so-humble opinion.

So why am I considering going? To take pictures of the midnight sun Harry Potter party for Woodworks, in part, maybe interview a few people. To see pretty costumes. I wish I had a friend to go with... maybe I'll call Selena. She's been in town all summer and I SUCK for not calling her. This is awfully late notice, however, as it is already nearly 7:30. Maybe I'll call anyway.

*looks sideways at the new toy.* Or maybe I'll stay here and make stuff.

I'm conflicted...

I wish I had some of my cool clothes out of storage; that would undoubtedly tip the balance... but showing up to something like that in my jeans? Eh...
