Buried myself nose-deep in paypal's documentation about the pro merchant account, downloaded a new possible (but highly unlikely) php shopping cart (mostly to see what kind of output code it generates, because that's what I'll need to mimic to talk with paypal), and am playing with some .html files that I think I can re-organize to speak with a database instead of unweildy arrays. Interesting stuff, I tell you... but it makes my brain throb. Was very thrilled to find that I'll be able to take CC payments in person from now on. :)

Uncovering Atlantis got rejected from Epilogue... lack of contrast! Meh! There may be some truth there - and the web version does look washed out compared to the original. I wish the rejections were a little more in-depth and helpful - I can't wait for artgauntlet...

Working on some PA stuff - gotta get some of these submitted descriptions up and out! No new ones being accepted yet...

Then, into town for orders and sales and stuff...

I did this last year, and think it's just an awesome idea. I love browsing my friendslist and finding stuff that I can send 'em that they'll want. :) (Usually cheap or free 'cause I'm a miser, and this year I'm out of gainful employment) I think the one I did last year didn't have a limit of 10. I'm not using a limit. Cause I'm a rebel.

Step One

* Make a post (public, friends-only, filtered to a special list... whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from small and digital in nature ("I'd love a custom icon based on _____ artist/film/interest/etc.") to medium ("I wish I had _____ on CD/DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
* If you wish for tangible things (as opposed to icons, graphics, stories, etc. that can be posted to your journal), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your snail-mail address, or just your email address so that potential gift-givers can get in touch with you.
* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
* Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
* If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want, or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it!
* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be grant someone else's wishes -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special

here's my list...
