Fixing yet more stuff at EMG-zine... I've got the account update page fixed up, and the subscriber options page fixed except that it won't upload the picture (frustrating me no end...). I found a workaround for the horrible table-merging task I thought I was going to have to tackle. (It's not elegant, but it works.)

And last night I got a little art time:

Note to self: DON'T MESS WITH THE PHP SETTINGS.

In my mucking with the EMG-Zine site, I thought one of my problems might be that I was using an old php setting. 'Well,' I thought, as I often do, 'I'll just try this and see if it does the trick. If it doesn't work, I can switch it back.' This was to set the site to the newest version of php. Except that there was no switching back. It's a one-way change.

POOF. All my variables were gone. Including all the ones that drove the menus and logged you in and updated information and did basically EVERYTHING. Freaking disaster. I've fixed all the public pages (and the one liiiittttllllee problem I was trying to fix, which was just a stupid extra / mark, actually), but the backend is currently toast, as is the artboard voting. And it took me ALL day to get back up to even that point.

I'm such a disaster.

(On the upside, subscriber ad uploading works now. And I learned some nifty tricks that may be useful later. And I know what NOT to do, so there's that.)

Now, one urgent and one not-so-urgent order to get out, a load of dishes, a shopping and post office trip, and... I'm not sure what my evening holds - no bellydancing class until December!

Tomorrow will be anthology uploading (giving that last artist one last day to get the high-res files in!) and fixing the stupid EMG-Zine backend.

The day continued about like the previous entry. Half an hour in line at the post office. Three stores to find none of them had what I needed.

Came home to no Internet. Assumed our new Internet upgrade had taken place and tried installing new modem. Didn't work. Called tech support - our line hadn't been upgraded yet, our new modem wouldn't work. Re-installed old modem. Didn't work. They'd reset our password at some point, and it took an hour or two to figure that out and fix it.

In the middle of doing that, my glasses broke. Right in half. Fell off of my face.

On the up side, downloading the last high-res files for the zine now - I am SO relieved! I really wanted to include this walkthrough. :)

Also on the up side, Fantastic Magic is back in stock, as are wallets and purses and handbags. I got that urgent order out. I've fixed MOST of what I broke at EMG-Zine.

I think I'm going to go make me a strong drink and slump exhaustedly on the couch now.
