This is some of them.

Somewhere wandering through Montana. I drove the truck through some snow flurries in this area... first time driving with a trailer, and I was pretty white-knuckled in a couple of places.

Writing on Stone Provential Park is in southern Alberta, and has a forest of these cool stone 'hoo doo's. There were amazing petroglyphs and pictographs in some of them.

Leaving Writing on Stone, we caught sight of these furry little folks!

We got to the Alberta Birds of Prey Centre at *exactly* the right time and Jake got to catch a harris hawk.

Golden Eagle by the name of Sarah.

This guy is Alex, a burrowing owl. That's me. Jake calls this the three hooter picture.

This fuzzball great horned is about 2 months, just getting his flight feathers

A black bear. One of twelve.

Not the hottest pictures. He didn't want to stick around.

Moose!

Liard Hot Springs is really heaven. Forget what you've read about fluffy clouds and harps, this is the real deal.

Just a rather ominous dark sky. I have some more on other cards still to download.

Me! Somewhere in Yukon.

More to come.

He was a hoot, no pun intended. Every-so-often he'd go into an absolute fit trying to get his wings working. And then he'd stand around looking at people for a while again. Very entertaining.

I showed David all the piccies because I wanted him to see where I'd like to go, and he agreed that it all looks gorgeous.

And he said, "And Ellen looks like a cool person!" ^_^

He's a keeper!

Montana/Canada is going to be a ton less cultural and more wildlife-y than Europe, but I prefer it. On the other hand, there are areas of Europe that compare... Lofoten Islands in Norway are simply AMAZING. If you get up this far, we'd have floor space available for you. :) (But it is a heck of a drive!)

I love your shirt! :D
Burrowing owls have long fascinated me. They are the sweetest looking thing and where they make their dwellings is just plain cool. I'm such a sap for anything owl I am rather envying you right now. ;)

That caterpillar picture is both creepy and oddly mesmerizing...

I was suprised by how incredibly weightless he was.

I had to snap a shot of the caterpillars when I saw them. They were squirmy, too...

Liard is awesome! That first pool is really dang freaking hot, though. Too hot to stay in for long- I don't know if it was the minerals in the water or the heat of the water, but it melted holes in my friend's swimsuit and destroyed the spandex part of mine, leaving large sections of it more or less transparent- the other fiber stayed, so it's like very fine mesh. Mental note... next time, just wear old shorts and shirt instead of $60 swimsuit.
