Whelp, moment of truth and all, doing a complete site rebuild of EMG Lite. If it doesn't stall out or make some other kinds of problems, it goes online in just a few moments.

I've also got things set up for my minions to start posting PA work. *also crossing fingers!*

I need to go build some new artist pages before I post more for them to do, but these four should keep them busy for a bit. The first time always takes a little while to figure out.

I'd like to work on updating adopted galleries and such, but we'll see how the day progresses... first I gotta get some payments out. Darn people keep paying with credit card (four week delay in getting payment) and I pay artists fairly promptly out of paypal, so I'm constantly playing 'have I got enough $$ in the right place??' Looks unlikely that I'll get any reimbursement for my INATS costs until next month, too. And I've GOT to buy my Dragon*con tickets and hotel soonsoonsoon... just waiting on my paperwork at this point... *fidgets*

OKAY! Rebuild successfull, please go try to break EMG LITE. Let me know if anything doesn't work. Searches (most browsing links) will still be slow, but hopefully not nearly as slow as they were at the old site.

Opinions from a geek, take as you will...

I'm confused as to how much of the site is supposed to be part of the Lite version. Clicking some links kept me within the purvey of /fantasyart2/, while others took me back out to /fantasyart/ (notably the ones in the floating menu).

Clicking the 'view shopping cart/checkout' icon took me to a page where I could possibly pay, except I didn't have anything in my cart. I'd expect it to at least tell me there wasn't anything in my cart.

Also, best as I can tell neither the original site nor the Lite site allow you to add something to a shopping cart w/o cookies being on.

Likewise, w/o javascript on, the navigation's hard and you don't get any access to the shopping cart at all.

Otherwise, except for the search slowness, things seem ok.

Its not really a new feature but I just thought I'd mention that the menu bar is distracting and makes me feel a little queasy.
Even if I scroll reeeeaaly slowly it swings from top to bottom of screen like a demented thing before settiling down.
Other than that looks fine and I look forward to seeing the new site.

I'm not at all sure! It won't be until the site has been moved to a mySQL database - the load is just too great for the software I'm using. But that's going very, VERY slowly right now, so... maybe towards the end of the year? August, I'm hoping, but I think that October is more likely.

I can't get my computer to work cg up to the file sizes you need yet, but I am very interested.

Hopefully I won't always be this broke and if I can get some more memory on my machine and get in some practice.....
