I feel like I'm second guessing everything right now, and it's really slowing me down. I keep doubting myself - did I spend my time on the right things last year? Am I going to make all the same mistakes again? Am I being too lenient? Am I being too hardass? Is that LJpost/email/forumpost I just made stupid or conceited sounding? Is everyone SICK of my projects yet? Why didn't more people submit to the gallery for EMG-Zine February? Comeon... an easy theme like romance, and only EIGHT of you could find something to submit? /whine

Been doing ACEOs lately - nothing to write home about, mostly quick scribbly stuff to get ye olde juices going. My new punch is still awesome - definitely the best thing I spent money on in the last six months. April, I still need to get with you about the watercolor paper! I should run off and do my research for that now...

Fiddled more with the login script, haven't solved it yet.

Fiddled more with Artistspay, still haven't found that *stupid* missing invoice. Got all the PA pay calculated up. Still need to resolve the several PA pieces that got invoiced and make sure I don't double-pay any of the adoptions that got entered into my tracking program. It's so WEIRD with half of stuff in the tracking system and half not. I have to double-check EVERYTHING.

Office is a disaster! Need to clean in a bad way. Took a load of trash to the dump today, and have a big box of stuff (mostly small stickers and magnets) to add to the clearance page. Plus lots of old paperwork to sort. Ugh.

I've gotten back into the habit of religiously doing art each day - funny thing is, art is the only thing that actually pays me right now - and yet it feels the least like work, so it's the hardest to make myself do each day. But, I need to get in the habit of starting out with artwork right up front and doing a few hours on it before I dive into coding and other stuff that eats up time and feels like work. Got that chainmail piece almost painted, and the dragons and elf piece nearly finished in the final sketch phase. (Plan to ink it, haven't decided how to color it yet...) Got some thumbnail sketches finished to show to a commissionee. Haven't heard back from the commissionee I sent work to yesterday - won't be adding color until I get the rest of the payment.

Things I need to do next week:

Finish artists pay
Make sure ciri has all the files I have for proofing for emg-zine
Keepers of the Forest
Robin's coloring book
Reprint Fishbowl Fantasies coloring book
Compile Gothic coloring book
update clearance page
PAY for WA space
PAY for license
Take Norway for walks everyday
send stuff for INATS East.
Probably other stuff I'm forgetting right now.

Also, I am feeling the itch to jump on the bandwagon and design a batgirl. Yes, yes indeed....

I thought about submitting something for February's but 1) work was busy before the holidays and 2) I've been sick since before the holidays. I've been unable to get up energy for either art or writing (or much else) since then.

What's 'Keepers of the Forest'? It sounds interesting.

I have you down as 'extension granted' since we'd talked before the deadline. :) Yes, please send them!

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I meant to submit something, honest, I did! I even had it in my reminder thingy, but for some reason, I'd put it down as the 15th - I don't know where I got that...now I wonder what might have been 'sposed to happen on the 15th that I've forgotten! **headdesk** Sorry, Ellen - I'll try to do better!

Sorry Ellen but this has been a crappy time of the year for submitting stuff... between overhauling the website, being away over Christmas, working on commission, moving hosts and working 45+ hours a week at the day job...I kinda forgot :( Will make a point of getting something to you for the next one...

I've got the Christmas Gift painting (you know the Christmas card pic I sent out) which is kind of romance-y if your stuck for artwork.

*comfort* i hope you're feeling better though, I think you had flu/cold/icky? brain's been so fuzzy, and a few people on my lj list were sick. ; ;

If you need more artwork, I'll be happy to submit a second picture for it - also I never heard back from you about the suitability of the Symbiosis picture.

I have it on standby if you need it

Ack! I must have spaced out the Symbiosis picture question - email me with a link again, pretty please?

it's here:
http://www.nethermind.co.nz/jpg/faeries/image_symbiote.html

But I would submit a high quality scan of it with the contrast etc corrected for EMG-Zine

Eh, I'm a chicken and still figuring out what your E-zine is about :) But! It's okay. We all have days where we second guess ourselves. I think, just from what I see here, you're making the moves you need to right now. You have a lot going on and tons of energy going into a lot of different things right now. I'm new but I like hearing about your projects.

For the gallery, would something like my LOVE painting work or am I clueless on the ezine still? I haven't had a chance to fully look over it (read...I've been so busy distracting myself I am not focused on the things I need to be focused on right now.) I realize I need to delve into your website tomorrow after our family get together. But if I'm too blonde here, just hit me over the head or something. ;)

and yet it feels the least like work, so it's the hardest to make myself do each day. But, I need to get in the habit of starting out with artwork right up front and doing a few hours on it before I dive into coding and other stuff that eats up time and feels like work

Amen!

Oh, your LOVE painting would have been perfect! However, the deadline for that month is now past. Be thinking about Celtic Fey - deadline is Feb 1! Or look ahead at the other themes... they are listed here: http://www.emg-zine.com/guidelines.html

:)

My mom insists I was born late and have been late ever since. Here's proof! :)

I like the themes, especially interested in the Celtic. So I'd better get to work. I have the seed of an idea playing about too if I can just focus.

The crappy thing is that I had something in mind to draw and submit but wasn't on the ball enough to get it started and done when I got the idea - and then I was laid up the last days of December and couldn't. I'm trying to get myself to stop doing stupid things like that...

In a second-guessing mode myself to a degree, but already decided, I guess that my focus this year will be on creating more and improving my art...maybe BEFORE I try to market it too aggressively. I also assumed you probably already had a ton of submissions.....

I recall noticing you also soliciting for article submissions too....but I guess I have this thing in my head that viewers/readers really only want to read articles written by more experienced artists or artists with a measurable and memorable level of success under their belt in the art world, to be taken "seriously". So I refrain from that as well.

But I wish you well with this! I think your project ideas are very exciting!

geh x.o Life has been in a turmoil lately and I haven't even been doin' WIsh3 for the past few weeks... nor really drawing at all. :( *HUG* I hope to get somethin' up for you next time, if life doesn't keep kickin' me in the face.

BTW, how's WIsh3 comin' along? XD *runs off before beating*
