You don't want to see my list of things to do today.

Probably won't get through many (any) submissions today. I put a big dent in them yesterday.

I also watched Sin City - wow! Violent and gory, but Very Cool.

Must get my printer/computer over here in short order, because it's driving me crazy not to have everyone in one spot again. Nicely, at least it's mostly everything that's at HOME, instead of most everything in the basement office. An end to this nonsense is in sight.

And urrrrrgh, my email is slow.

Now see, I didn't like Sin City. I found myself getting bored, and that's even with the artistic flare. The narrative got on my nerves. But my husband thought it was really interesting. Didn't necessarily like it, but thought it was intriguing. And yes, it's definitely violent!

My to do list is getting rather long as well. Mainly because my motivation is poo. But I did manage to order a decent supply of backing boards and bags today so I'm pretty cheerful about that. Now to get an order ready to ship out. Wheeee.

Here's hoping you manage to get through your To Do list without trouble. :)

Sin City was incredible.
So very unique...I loved it.

Hope you get most of your stuff done!

I've never seen Sin City, but I do know what it's like not to have everything you need to run a business in the right place! I'm still figuring out where everthing should go since I moved last month.

I haven't seen Sin City yet but the ads look gorgeous like those hand tinted Victorian photo's.

Ellen, when you scan an oil painting do you have to take it off its stretcher or is there a way to do it otherwise without letting to much light into the scanner? I'll need to be using someone else's equiptment so I don't really want to spend too long working things out as they'll be doing me a favour.

I've mostly done oils on canvas boards, so unstretching wasn't an option. I've mostly had to scan in sections with *massive* overlap, because one side will be okay, and then one side washed out because of light. Next time I go shopping for a scanner, I'm getting one with a perfectly flat top and a removeable lid. So, ah, afraid I have no particularly good news or advice on this. Overlap a lot, which means extra scans. That's it, really. I don't know how much effort unstretching is, so I don't know if it would be easier/better to do that. :P

I got a load of ready stretched canvases shockingly cheap from the pound shop £1 each as opposed to £7. Its not too big to scan but the lady I asked advice from the art shop says if I unstretch it will crease and go out of shape and be unscannable anyway. I shall just have to find someone with a detachable lid and beg pretty please.
