June's EMG-Zine theme is halves. I have exactly one piece of art and one column so far. Plus my own stuff. And maybe I'll break Liiga's May article into two.

The deadline is Monday!

Be thinking ahead to July - the theme is mischief. I'd like to have some articles/opinions/helpful bits on art theft.

Ellen, I don't have anything that really fits the "halves" theme but I can surely come up with something for Mischief.

I could maybe pull out something along the lines of "don't quit your day job - finding time to paint while holding down a career" but I'm not sure I'm a good one to be giving advice on that.

My June column's written, I'm working on the photographs now. I need natural light and the weather here the last week has not been cooperating! The sun''s out today though. At last!

It occurs to me that I've been meaning to mention that I found it hard to find information on the upcoming themes - the submissions place isn't an illogical place to put it, really, but I don't think it's a good idea to put the info all of the way at the bottom of the page, and not have any little clue pointers elsewhere on the site that there is where the upcoming theme info is around. I could just be dense (wouldn't be the first time :)), but it originally didn't occur to me to look back there for theme info after I had looked at the guidelines once - I didn't seem the themes listed there at first because they were under all of the other info, and I keep forgetting they are there because they are in a place that is easy to miss. I also didn't see any theme info at the forums, which boggled me. I think posting a note here and at the forums a month ahead of the deadline with what the theme will be and a link to the submission page will help people find it, and putting the theme info farther up the page would be a good idea as well.

*breathe* Whew, that was a hell of a paragraph. Anyhow, I don't know if my art is anywhere up to snuff with what the art board is wanting to take, but it occured to me that I could expand my PSA on backups to an actual article, assuming it hasn't been done already - I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up. Regardless, I'll send you a proposal or something soon, probably for the July issue.

I could probably submit my latest piece - it's two halves/sides of the same character - the darker and the lighter side-by-side. I don't know if that would fit the theme or not. But if it does, I could ask my friend's permission (it's her character) and submit. Got 2 more obligation arts to finish and then I'm free to draw whatever I want!
