Working today. (Go ahead, look surprised...)

A billion things to catch up on, can't *believe* I agreed to mod the Elfwood LJs... was I nuts?! No, just sorry for the crap Gretchen is always dealing with and community conscious. Limited term, thank heavens. If I get really desperate, I just have to remind myself, eleven days! I can handle *anything* for eleven days. Rotten kids, skull-splitting pain, squabbles and misunderstandings, what is eleven days really? A drop in the bucket. Hopefully, it won't be too time consuming. Made an attempt to show a little more activity in the communities while I was waiting to be 'inducted.'

Out of curiosity; do other work places encourage pets at work? On weekends, there are usually a few dogs around. I think it's probably an Alaskan thing...

*Finally* caught up on sleep, though I woke up thinking about Elfwood rules about six times. Had weird swimming pool dreams. I dream about swimming pools a lot; I wonder what that means. Probably sex. Didn't Freud think everything was about sex?

Very happy to find that our DVD/CD player also reads MP3s this morning. Have some old strange discs with 160+ tracks that will be *very* unusual mixes.

All for now.

I think it depends on the kind of business. I know of a few small shops that always have a cat or dog laying around the place.

I actually wish it were more acceptable to bring animals everywhere, like in Europe. Of course, that could get messy..

nope, no animals allowed at work in Germany - well, no place that I know of. Some people bring their dog with them when they have only one class to teach at uni, but that is "tolerated" and not really welcome. And definitely not allowed in any of the stores / companies / places I have been to. Might be some fringe companies that allow it, but not the big uns.

colleges, universities, and other academic places often do allow pets. :>

I will be very happy to fade back into my usual obscurity again...
