Not sure...

I posted roughs of this a long while ago, much work has been added since. I had hoped to finish this for the Fairy Seasons book, but the wings really weren't working for me, so I ditched them! If I were very dedicated, I'd color it, but I rather like it with only the one color. And I'm lazy. I think I will offer this as a bonus for folks who order the book from me. Not sure yet, though - can't decide if it needs more work and my inner 3-year old is just protesting that I just don't wanna, or if it's really done. Also, I found after I'd scanned it and started adding the color bits that I'd shaded the lighting on her face all wrong. Pff...

Comments welcome!

You could always tint the whole thing with a soft winter-blue tinge, I think it would look lovely with a colour wash over it..

While I like the idea of keeping the colors simple, maybe change the color of the light? It's looking kind of. . .lime green, right now. Maybe make it more blue? I also agree with a color wash of some sort. But then that's just my personal preference, I don't care for that shade of green. =P

Also, maybe up the contrast in the foreground a little? The sky in the background is jet black, and with the focus of the picture being on the light, it looks a bit awkward being so low-contrast in the front. You can always muck with it in Photoshop and then turn it back to how it was if you prefer it that way.

...okay, I'm done. *crawls back under rock*

You are quite right on all points!! *takes away the rock*

I've messed with the foreground quite a lot and bumped up contrast a ton.

I'm not fond of the lime green, either, but I'm going for a new-spring-green color, and I'm not quite sure how to achieve that with less uck. I'll poke at it and see if I can't make it a little less limey.

If there's going to be green lighting in areas and the rest of her and the scenery is that clearly lit, there should be something with another light source, methinks, lighting the non-greeny bits. Moon, shadows, etc?
