Darn it, I spent 30 minutes with that nasty bleach eating into my head and making my eyes water, and NO ONE EVEN NOTICED. I was hoping for Marilyn Monroe blonde, and instead, I'm maybe one shade lighter. Maybe. It's cute, and I don't hate it, but it's not at ALL what I was going for.

I've had that happen...*lol* I was totally going for light blonde and got a strawberry blonde only a couple shade lighter than my hair was already. I was so disappointed! Now I'm strictly a brunette. *grin*

Platinum blonde is really hard to get if you aren't some shade of blonde to start with. It's almost as involved as getting it pure white. Unless you're willing to mess around with some serious chemicals, it's better to get recommendations for a salon that's good with dye and go to them if you want to go that light (and I say that as a normally DIY forever sort of person).

You also probably didn't leave the stuff on long enough.

For the record, my hair is ultra-thick and bordering on coarse and it took 30 vol developer and violet toned peroxide powder, under plastic for an hour, to get it platinum.

The only time I ever coloured my hair, the only difference you could tell was that my scalp turned bright blue.

I have been considering having my few grey hairs toned in but as my black hair is straight and my white hair is curly it would probably look weird anyways.

If I could remember the name of the stuff I use to get my Rogue streak, I'd send you to get some of it. But I can't. You could go to Fred Meyer and take pictures of all the hair color products and I could pick it out for you... :)
