OMG.

So, our mattress was about 6 inches thick at the edges - and about 4 inches thick in the center. It was Super Generic Brand, Extra Cheap Model, about 8 years old and supported on plywood on a cheap metal frame.

Now, our mattress is about 2 feet thick, with individually pocketed springs, and a Real box spring base.

The difference is INCREDIBLE.

My back actually does not hurt this morning. I cannot feel Jake get in and out of bed next to me. It was worth the hours and hours we spent at mattress stores yesterday and the money we were finally desperate enough to plunk down for the one in stock. Worth every second and every dollar.

Wow. I mean, really, wow.

Gearing up for some serious sales stuff at EMG tomorrow, and some work on a webpage due Tuesday. The lilypad is being stubborn, so it's going to take a little more work than I hoped to get the sale up. I did get 5 PA portraits done last night, and I got an express order out yesterday. FP is ready to start a contest tomorrow, and... the new front page design is not finished because I am slow and stupid with that stuff. Maybe by Feb 1.

HMM! Email and site appear to be down at the moment...

hehe, after all we do spent 1/3 of our live on bed so it is worth the investment. I used to be very "aw cmmon just something I can lay flat on" too, until I got a really good bed and good mattraze. OK, the first night I had double backache, but I guess it was just my bones rearranging *g*

I replied to the email about my pay, saying I wanted to be paid now in my paypal. That was a few days ago and I haven't heard anything, is that normal?

Yes, that's normal! I give those folks who are on autopay a few days to say 'hang on, I want to use this as credit...' before I pay everyone. Sorry for the delay, this is on my list to do tomorrow!

Oooooooh, you've already got your mattress!!! ***jealous*** We were in the same condition (well, still are at the moment) - Super Generic, Extra Cheap, about 8 years old. We went mattress shopping a week ago Saturday, and the one we wanted wasn't in stock, and so we're STILL waiting for it to be delivered! I've been really antsy wanting my new mattress!! Hopefully, we'll have it by the end of the week, as they're supposed to be getting a delivery on Wednesday. Oh, I can't wait!!!! :)

We were ready to buy at the first store we went to, but they told us it would be a week and we wibbled and went shopping elsewhere. I'm glad we did, because we found what we wanted for $950 less and in stock at another store!!

Oof! I remember using a futon for a few months, too. Even the crappy generic 6" mattress was such an amazing step up from that.

What kind of mattress did you get? We need a new one...

We got a 'Lady Americana' from 'Mattress Ranch,' the Elite Premier model. They're like a 'certified generic brand' - they have to be made to certain standards and get inspected, but they are manufactured locally, so they're a lot cheaper than the Seallys and Sertas, but supposedly just as good. It was $950 cheaper than the Serta we were ready to buy... and after night 3, we're still wildly happy with it.

Good for you guys. I was contemplating those "sleep number" things... I think I need a different firmness than Greg. And I toss and turn so much...with Greg being a light sleeper, it doesn't always work. :P

We looked at the sleep number things, and they were comfy! But so expensive! If you don't end up getting a sleep number, be sure to get one with independent coils - I am amazed at how much I don't feel Jake tossing and turning! HUGE difference. (I'm the light sleeper, he's the midnight acrobat...)
