I've got a very sore spot on my inking finger that is nearly a blister, as I found when I picked up a pen this morning. Still, worth it. Thank you all for your comments!! So happy to have this stage finished. I worked a little further on the Fire and Water piece, also, but probably won't pick it up again until tomorrow evening at gaming. I love the fact that I've made time for art again - very good for the soul.

Ahah! I have a potential neat-o use for the RedWombatTeaCo.com domain I snagged last year. *grins and crosses fingers*

I always get near-blisters during spring planting. I've discovered a quick way to build callus.

1) Work until a sore spot develops, then stop.
2) Wash hands, dry them, and apply lotion.
3) Periodically repeat wash-and-lotion step until soreness dimishes.
4) Repeat work cycle.

The soap helps dry out the top layer of skin, discouraging blisters and encouraging callus. Lotion helps the deeper layers of skin to heal.

Oh! Thanks for the tip! This will help me build up harp calluses, too...

Yes, it'll work for that. It's also helpful if you go too far and start getting blisters -- washing helps them dry up and heal faster, if they're not so far that the skin is super-thin and stretched tight.

You play nylon-strung harp? That's cool.
