A life of strange....
Jun. 26th, 2008 02:38 pmPost 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done. See if anybody else responds with "I've done that." If they have, you need to add another. Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.
1. Got caught in a broken elevator with Margaret Weis and three angry Klingons. (I was FAR too intimidated to actually say anything.)*
2. Replaced the alternator in a car at 20 below.
3. Printed the limited editions of the Dragonlance covers for Matt Stawicki. They are SO pretty.
4. (see *) I was detained by the FAA and fined $2500 for attempting to bring explosives onto a plane. Good thing it was before 9-11, eh?
*Oh crap, Jennie, were you with me when this happened? It's too cool not to list, even if I end up having to find another...

Re: Details!
Date: 2008-06-26 11:47 pm (UTC)I was carrying food-safe, decorative sparklers - the kind you'd put in fancy ice cream drinks with some fruit and an umbrella. I'd been through three rounds of international customs with them, and at least a dozen airports... it never even occurred to me that they would be classed as explosive. I wasn't even carrying a source of fire. I appealed and got the fine reduced to $125, I think.

Date: 2008-06-27 12:28 am (UTC)And I always get my mechanic to point out what stuff when I get it serviced or repaired, so I know which bit she's talking about.
Mind you, I've had to give up my cool chick mechanic - I bought a Toyota and now I can only go to 'approved' garages in order to keep the warranty :(
