Aug. 20th, 2008 07:47 amI was at Fred Meyers yesterday, and they had a CHRISTMAS DISPLAY up.
I walked around it twice, looking for a super clearance sign, or some indication that it was leftover from last year or some other forgivable reason, but no... it was a display for Christmas ornaments for 2008.
It's AUGUST.
A CHRISTMAS display.
I feel queasy.

Date: 2008-08-20 05:02 pm (UTC)I dont mind Christmas displays showing up around Halloween or so, if they are small. After Thanksgiving is absolutely perfect.....
But before LABOR DAY!?!?!?!?!
Soon well just have them permanently up >.>

Date: 2008-08-20 10:34 pm (UTC)I always think it is very disrespectful as well when towns put up their decorations before November 11th and the old soldiers have to do their poppy day marches under Xmas lights.

Date: 2008-08-20 11:19 pm (UTC)I'm old fashioned. August is for Back to School. September you can get going with Halloween. October, you're allowed to think ahead to Thanksgiving. And November AND December are for Christmas. That's still two full freaking months for the holiday. August for Christmas? I protest.
