The lights were out last night - northern lights, and one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life. I was driving home from my weekly humiliation* bellydancing class and had to pull over so I didn't swerve off the road trying to see them. I called Jake from there, and, when I finally went home, stood out with him until we got too cold.

It was incredible - brilliant greens with reds just barely along the edges - slashed across the entire sky in dancing stripes. It was swirly and solid and swishy and all these things that are impossible to put in words, and looked like rips in the sky between the stars. A fabulous show. Magic.




*Not really - it's a lot of fun and they're very patient with me. I'll master this yet!

I cannot tell you how much I would LOVE to see an aurora. It's something (along with a deciduous forest in Autumn) that I've always wanted to see.
