I like her eyes. And I want to own/wear her shirt. Very cool.

Fascinating -- originally I thought her hand was on a tree-opening, and now I wonder if it's more flexible than that. And I'm having a deliciously difficult time sorting her expression. So intent, and yet not precisely angry or betrayed -- caught in the middle of saying or perceiving something. Such story hiding in here!

You probably picked up on my indecision. In the original sketch, it was cloth, but as I started painting, I thought it might be a rigid tree opening, too. But in the end, it went back to cloth.

I'm enormously pleased you're having trouble with her expression - she's a very complicated character, and I'm glad that's coming across.

That is just gorgeous Ellen! I am absolutely in love with all of the textures we can see in this piece! The dramatic lighting is also very well executed! Wonderful work!

Thank you! I had entirely too much fun with that lighting.

I am alarmed by this woman! She is very unsettling. O_O

This comment fills me with glee. She **should** be rather unsettling, but subtly, and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull that off or not. Thanks!

That's so gorgeous. :D I just love the lighting -- it's so striking; you can almost feel the sunlight on her shoulders.

I suspect this piece was rather driven by the OMGSUNSHINESOAKITUP I'm feeling right now... :)

Heh, when I was leaving my comment I almost added something about how I'm easily impressed by sunlight right now. :D (There is ACTUAL SUNSHINE! On my HOUSE! It's so awesome! Fairbanks makes you appreciate the simple things ...)

The whole 'Honey' thing got into my psyche without me realising, and I had to make honeycakes today. She is gorgeous!

I agree with the other comments, the backlighting and some of the texture (I like the fur best) is great. What did you colour her with?
