When the cruise ships are in, the population of Juneau swells. Each of these ships fit 1-3000 people, and they descend onto the city center like vultures. It's pretty amazing, really, and there can be up to 7 ships docked at a time. This is the view from our hotel room.

It wasn't really this dark - I think the little point-n-shoot camera had some trouble with the bright spots. Dramatic, though! This was out sailing in the sound.

Jake, on our hike by Mendenhall glacier. The climate there is much, much warmer and wetter than up in the Interior where we live.
