You know how I blogged earlier about the smoke being the worst I've ever seen?

It got worse.

I honestly didn't think it could. The airport is closed. They're actually bussing people to and from Anchorage, rather than flying. It's an 8 hour+ drive, that probably tells you something about how much this is looking to last, too. Jake probably won't be back on Friday after all. :(

I have never wanted rain for the fair before.

Oh god. That sounds utterly horrible. :( It reminds me of the one year the wind turned toward the Grande Ronde Valley during field burning season so the smoke just POURED in for a day, but the air wasn't moving in the valley itself so all the smoke collected and hung there. Hideously, hideously awful. I never want to see brown air again.
